Wednesday Whereabouts

This past week, we visited my grandparents for the day.  They live about an hour and a half away.  It had been awhile since we had visited them because my grandmother has been so sick, but thankfully on this day she was up for some visitors.  While she smiled and listened, the girls talked to her and sang her many songs, from Edelweiss to You Are My Sunshine.

The girls also helped my grandfather make his specialty – cheese straws – they are beyond delicious!  I’m not kidding when I say that the girls pretty much finished off this ENTIRE baking sheet of them.

My grandfather, visiting with L (aka Casper – lol)
Exhausted after a fun day.  It unexpectedly started pouring when we were about to leave.  Thankfully, my sister came prepared, and lent E her jacket.

Last week, W’s class had a Father/Daughter Coffee.  It was the cutest thing.  W was so proud to bring her daddy to school with her.

  1. Awww! Great photos!! I love that look on E's face with your sister's coat on. And L is just too cute! He is sure getting big! How fast it goes!

W looks adorable with daddy too! I know I cried so hard last year when Stella & Alton went to the daddy daughter dance at school I love that look of admiration on their face with their daddies.

  2. Ashley, I grew up in Asheville and shopped at Just Ducky all the time as a child. I recently went through a box of hand me down's for Hank, from a cousin, and was so delighted to find a Just Ducky Original! So cute 🙂 What a great give-away! So glad everyone had fun at the Dad's Coffee! Hank and Dad had a great time!

  3. Every time I read your blog I cannot get over how precious your girls are! I'm only 18 myself, but I've always been overly ready to be a mother, and I hope that when I have children my girls are half as cute as yours!

  4. I know you've probably watched you granddaddy make those cheese straws a million times. Tell me please, how oes he extrude them into the straw shape, using a cookie press? If so, which one?
