This week I’ve been accomplishing some serious spring cleaning. This warm weather better be here to stay because I’ve stored away all of our closed-toe shoes, fall/winter wardrobes and heavy coats. SUMMER is my FAVORITE season – lots of water, sun and less clothes to wear (which means getting the kiddos dressed quicker…always a plus in my book!). Needless to say, I was happy to see my brights come out of the attic, and am more than ready to sport them! One of them, being these…
1/2 Cup Loosely Packed Fresh Mint Leaves
1 Lemon, Sliced
2 Tbsp. Sugar
3 Cups Cold Sweetened Tea
1 Cup Bourbon
Crushed Ice
Garnish: Fresh Mint Sprigs, Lemon Wedges
Combine first 3 ingredients in a 2-qt pitcher. Press mint leaves against sides of pitcher with back of spoon to release flavors. Stir in sweetened tea and bourbon. Serve over crushed ice. Garnish, if desired.
Yum – I was thinking about having some kind of spiked tea as our signature drink at the wedding and this one is sounding really tasty!
i cant wait to fully wear my spring/summer clothes as well!
There's nothing better than Mint Juleps around Derby season!
