How I Do It: Easy Summer Outfits

A linen or cotton top paired with a denim or chino short is my summer staple.
Simplicity is key.
When we’re not at the pool I tend to wear a little something like this…
Now I’ll be honest and say that I don’t own anything like this cross body bag above, but I sure would love to.  Love how it gives this outfit a pop of color!
I also enjoy wearing a simple dress, with some sandals.  Easy to throw on when I’m busy dressing the kids and prepping for whatever our day has in store.
Tory Burch Tortoise Sunglasses (I own these, and love to wear them when I’m wearing shades of brown) // Gap Floral Outline Dress (currently on sale) // Emi-Jay Classic Hair Ties // Hipanema Bangle // Dolce Vita Fray Gladiator Sandals // Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder (I have olive skin and wear Golden Light) // Essie Fiji

I also love the simplicity of this Faherty Bora Bora Tank Dress.

I hope y’all have a great start to your week!  We’ve got rain here today but I’m honestly kind of thankful for it.  This pollen around here is already covering everything in sight.  Here’s hoping it washes a lot of it away!

  1. Have you tried those Rag and Bone cutoffs? I feel like I am forever on the quest for good-but-age-appropriate cutoffs. I'm a size 4-6 but my legs aren't stick-skinny, and I just can't find cutoffs that I think are flattering. Tried the j.crew ones last week and I think I want them about an inch longer.

    1. I haven't tried these on yet, but I've heard they run big. We sound like we're the same size, according to your description – 4-6 not super skinny legs. I always end up going with a size 6 in most J.Crew shorts because I like to wear them lower on my waist. I'm guessing I'd go with a 28 in the R&B shorts, knowing that that way they'll be a little longer than the description of length.

  2. Love that lucite and pave link bracelet! I am taking your cue and buying a few more linen shirts to wear around. I love the new profile pic btw. I am also thinking about a crossbody bag. I know Natalie of Designer Bags and Dirty Diapers loves her Gigi New York one! It would be nice to always have my phone and wallet one me and not in the diaper bag in the stroller. I know you are always out and about. Do you bring a smaller clutch to carry around or do you keep it all in your diaper bag/ purse? I don't know how you do it all with 4 littles–you are an inspiration and always so stylish and pulled together!

    1. Thanks so much! Lately I've been carrying my St. Anne Tote bag for everything. I've posted about it a lot lately. Inside I usually carry my Gigi All-In-One Bag. It's capable of holding my phone, Tory Burch Continental Wallet and keys. That way if I want to run in somewhere real quick I'm not having to carry my entire tote bag in with me. Here are a few previous posts featuring my Gigi All-In-One:

    2. Thanks so much! That's a great idea! I love the Gigi All-in-One. I have the same one in black but don't use it nearly enough. I think that is a great idea! I am going to start carrying it in my diaper bag (a Longchamp) and not just using the clutch for date nights! On the plus side I won't lose my keys and phone as often in the purse!

Your St. Anne Tote is on my wish list as well! Thanks again for the feedback!
