Wednesday Whereabouts + Swing Dresses for Fall

I feel like all this past week’s posts I’ve been sharing intermittently what we’ve been up to, so today, I’m sharing the rest with you!  On Thursday morning, we met my inlaws (Poppy and Grammy to the kids) halfway for breakfast.  Yes, that’s Waffle House.  Logan loves that place!

As I mentioned on Monday’s post, Vaughn slept in a big boy for the first time on Saturday night and did so well!  He did keep asking to get back in his crib because we hadn’t disassembled it yet, but after I laid with him for a little bit, he was totally fine.  I convinced him that his big bed was more comfortable, had more pillows, more covers, and more room.  Plus, I told him that I could now lay next to him when I put him to sleep each night.  Since Saturday, he’s napped in his bed too.  I’m so impressed!  His cute kayaker pjs are by crewcuts and currently 25% off with code: SHOPNOW.
The one thing I will add is that he’s been getting up earlier in the morning.  His usual wake up time was between 7 and 7:30.  Now, it’s more like 6.  But he doesn’t come out of his room, so I know I can’t complain.  He has this clock in his room and knows he can’t come out until it turns green.  And he loves to read books, so most mornings I hear him turn off his sound machine, turn on his light and read books in his bed.
Group hug!

On Sunday after church, we headed to Vickery’s for lunch.  They have a great view of Shem Creek.  The kids loved watching all the paddle boarders, boats and kayakers.
And a Bloody Mary for Mama.

He looked at the little boy illustration and said “Dat’s Vaughn, Mama. Dat’s Vaughn.”

Cracks himself up!

Since school started, Wheeler and Effie have been begging me to take them to the pool right after picking them up.  It finally happened yesterday, and they loved every minute of it!

Wheeler came home with an All About Me book yesterday.  Couldn’t help but share the illustration above.  I think it’s safe to say she loves a good boat ride.  Her image of the boat is pretty spot on too.

I posted a little later in the day yesterday, so in case you missed it, check it out here.  I shared an outfit I wore to dinner two nights ago with my new wedges.

I’ve been looking for a few toss-on dresses for Fall, that I could wear with flats, booties, etc.  This one is right up my alley.  Flowy for this warm weather now, and with leggings later.

I actually just ordered this Swing Dress in dark grey from Old Navy that came in yesterday.  Love it so much that I think I’m going to go for the dark red color too.  Will be perfect for Fall!
15% off today with code: EXTRA.

My sister-in-law, husband and their two boys get here tomorrow!
Can’t wait to see them!

Hope y’all are having a great week so far!

  1. Thanks for sharing the Old Navy swing dress!!! I have been desperately searching for dresses that are more covered up top. I forget about shopping on-line there and their quality can be hit or miss sometimes. The reviews for the dress were great; I would love to see how yours fit (and sizing). Anyhow, I just ordered two of them, the blue and the black/white stripe. Excited to wear them this fall with booties and tights/leggings.
