The French 75 + Candy Shop Vintage’s The ‘Celebrate Collection’ Debuts

For this week’s Thirsty Thursday, I’m featuring The French 75!  It is the tastiest concoction!  I totally recommend you concocting this for any special occasion you’ve got coming up, especially around the holidays!  First off, can I say that the Pumpkin Spice Punch I shared with you a few weeks was a huge hit at Halloween, and many of my neighbors wanted the recipe.  In case you missed it, check back here.  I’m already thinking about making it again over Thanksgiving for my family to try.  We used these copper mugs to drink them from, but really, any glass will do.
Last Friday night, my friend Deirdre Zahl, owner of Candy Shop Vintage, had a party to celebrate her new holiday collection that just debuted online yesterday.  As soon as I saw the pieces, I fell in love.  Miniature champagne bottles, coupes, shakers, gin bottles…I wanted every single piece!  On every colorful card, her Celebrate Collection includes The French 75 recipe, and as soon as I picked up the first one, I knew right away I wanted to share the recipe with you this week!  Deidre also served the cocktail at her party, so everyone in attendance was able to try her tasty treat.

The French 75
(recipe found here)
1 lemon
3 tablespoons (1 1/2 ounces) gin
1 1/2 tablespoons (3/4 ounce) fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon (1/2 ounce) simple syrup
1 cup ice cubes
1/4 cup (2 ounces) dry sparkling wine, such as brut Champagne, chilled
Using zester or paring knife, slice peel from lemon in long, thin spiral
Reserve lemon for another use and set peel aside.
In cocktail shaker, combine gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup.
Add ice and shake vigorously for 20 seconds.
Strain into chilled Champagne flute and top with sparkling wine.
Curl lemon peel around finger to create twist at least 6 inches long.
Garnish drink with twist and serve immediately.
Cheers!

Here with Olivia Brock of Laquered Life.  We had such a great time that night, and I walked away with two pieces, the champagne necklace and shaker necklace.  Love that they can be worn together for a layering effect or each by itself.  The length of the coupe necklace also fits in between the two.
I’m already thinking I need the charm bracelet in my life.  Each ingredient of the cocktail is a cute charm on such a fun, playful bracelet.  Definitely a conversation starter, for sure.

What I Wore

Loved catching up with my sweet friend, Annie Reeves!

Top // Jeans // Booties // Crossbody // Necklace (as a bracelet) // Ring // Earrings

And I’m not kidding when I say I’ll be wearing this pair so much throughout the holiday season.  Like I’ve already worn them once, with this top

…and I’m already planning on wearing them again with this top tonight!  It runs true to size.  I have a small.
Also, if you’re looking for a great gift idea, Candy Shop Vintage also carries Charleston Rice Beads in a variety of colors.  I don’t think I need to explain how much I love them.  I wear them all the time!
Happy Sipping…and Shopping!
