Wednesday Whereabouts + Gigi New York Summer Sale + OOTD: Tank on Sale ($20!)

Lanier’s grandmother sadly passed away last week.  We headed down to Georgia for the funeral this past weekend.  While it was definitely a sad time seeing her not at her home, and not with us anymore, she lived an amazing 102 years.  We enjoyed hearing everyone’s stories about his grandmother.  Many people I didn’t know, but I loved imagining her at different times in her life, when they would reminisce.  She was definitely a character, that’s for sure.
Logan was all smiles with Lanier’s dad.  He loves his Poppy.  It was his dad’s mother that passed away.  She had him when she was 38.  She lost her husband when she was in her late 50s and never remarried, always telling everyone that she would only love once.
After the service, it was 95 out, but my kids insisted on playing on the playground.  They didn’t last long.
We also visited with Lanier’s other grandmother while we were in town.  While it was a sad occasion that all of the family was together, it was nice getting to see so many of our relatives that we haven’t seen in so long.  I’m so glad that my girls are old enough to have memories of their great-grandmother.  Their most recent memory was singing happy birthday to her a few months ago.  Not many people can say they’ve sung that to a 102-year old!
Lanier rarely likes to have his picture taken, but I really wanted to remember this one.  On Sunday, we celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary.  We’ve been together for 18 years. Hard to believe it’s been that long.  As I get older, my memories are fleeting from my younger years, so now most of them include him in it.  And just like I knew when we first started dating, and just like I know now, I wouldn’t want to share the best memories of my life with anyone else.  So very lucky!  Wore my Lilly Pulitzer Essie Dress – which continues to be on repeat this summer.
Got these new sunnies last week.  They’re so fun!  I’ve been searching for a pair with gold lens.  They’re so fun!  Paired it with my rice beads necklace and Lilly Pulitzer Melle Dress (also available here).
 What a view!
Vaughn and I have been having such a fun time together this week.  He’s picked all of his favorite spots to visit – and of course it included a trip to his ultimate favorite spot in Charleston – the aquarium!  I swear he knows it like the back of his hand now.
 Finding Nemo and Dory.
Liberty the Eagle usually sits perched on a limb, very still, rarely batting an eye.  Yesterday, they changed his environment around a little and he didn’t like it one bit.  They put some green things on his favorite perch, and he wanted nothing to do with it.  While we were sad for him, it was cool watching him flying around his environment.  Something we’re not used to seeing.
Saying hey to Mr. Otter.  By the way, Vaughn started wanting to dress himself lately, and he’s so proud of himself when he puts it on.
It really is an awesome aquarium.  If you’re ever in town, you must visit!  It’s hard to tell here, but check out the bottom right area of this pic.  That’s not a rock, that’s Coretta the Sea Turtle chilling out against a rock.  Fun Fact:  This is the deepest aquarium in the U.S.
What I Wore
Striped Swing Tank (on sale for $20!) // Cutoff Shorts (old, very similar here) // Flip Flops // Gigi New York Madison Crossbody in Blush (a light pink, now on sale!) // Ring
Of course another spot we visited, just the two of us, was the pool.  We soaked in the sun right up until a huge storm hit and since then it’s been cloudy here.  Thankful we took advantage when we did.  This lobster bikini top is the one I posted about yesterday.  It’s only $21!

We had a dinner date last night with friends and enjoyed a yummy surf and turf meal.  Still dreaming about it!  Got to wear my new Elsa Top in You Gotta Regatta.  This is a pop-up print at Lilly, so when it’s gone, it’s gone.  It’s already sold out in a few sizes.  For reference, I’m wearing a small.  My pink lipstick is one of my new favorites, Smashbox Talk to Me Matte.  And these new wine glasses are so fun!

Clutch // Ring // Rice Beads Bracelets (in pink, mint, robin’s egg and gold) // Dress (now on major sale, from $264 to $132! It runs a little big. If you’re deciding between two sizes, size down.)
Gigi New York just started their Summer Sale!  My Uber Clutch is part of it.  Check out everything on sale here.  Remember, they can all be monogrammed too!
Hope y’all are having a great week so far!
